Our take on the Tiger Sport 660 and 800
Every ride feels like an adventure on the Tiger Sport 800. It strikes a balance between thrilling sports performance and long-distance touring capability, and its 798cc engine delivers 113 hp and 62 lb-ft with an eager, responsive edge. Weekend blasts and spontaneous trips into the unknown are what it does best.
Showa does the suspension work, with a 41mm upside-down cartridge fork adjustable for compression and rebound damping and a monoshock with adjustable rebound and remote hydraulic preload. Three riding modes, Optimized Cornering ABS, switchable traction control, Triumph Shift Assist and cruise control come standard, along with an adjustable windscreen, wind deflectors and aluminum wheels.
With a 32.7-inch seat and a wet weight of 471 lb, it is agile and easy to place in town. Head out of town and the 4.9-gallon tank, wind deflectors and adjustable screen make a full day of riding comfortable.
What the reviewers say
“It's a fun, effective mix of big-ish bore torque, and the revvy delights of a smaller engine.”
“On twisty roads, its 472 pounds seem to disappear, making it as effortless to ride and hustle as the 660, with which it shares similar dimensions and geometry.”
“Triumph's latest Triple sings like a 765 but with a more robust spread of power, pulling smoothly from as low as 3,000 rpm regardless of the ride mode selected.”

What changed for 2026
More power. 94 hp at 11,250 rpm, 13 hp more than before, and 50.2 ft-lb of torque at 8,250 rpm. The redline rises 20% to 12,650 rpm, and 80% of peak torque is on tap between 3,000 rpm and almost 12,000.
Three throttle bodies. One 1.7-inch throttle body per cylinder replaces the old single unit, fed by a larger front-mounted airbox. A reworked head with bigger exhaust valves and a higher-lift cam sharpens response and deepens the induction sound.
Bigger tank. Fuel capacity grows to 4.9 gallons, up from 4.5, for more range on long days and loaded trips.
New bodywork. A more substantial front end, new radiator cowls and a sharper side profile improve weather protection, with a new LED headlight and daytime running light.
Revised gearbox and clutch. New gearbox shafts, revised ratios and final drive, and recalibrated Triumph Shift Assist for smoother clutchless shifts. A new slip and assist clutch lightens lever effort.
Bigger radiator. A larger, repositioned radiator and fan manage the extra power, and the frame is revised to fit the new engine and throttle bodies.
New exhaust. A 3-into-1 header with a revised catalyst and a compact underslung silencer.

The Tiger Sport 800 Tour: The Tour is the same bike, dressed for the long haul. Reviewers asked for heated grips and hand guards as standard, and this is where Triumph put them. It's for the rider who rides to Monterey for the weekend and back without thinking twice.
