These terms cover your use of www.socalmotorcycles.com (the “site”), run by Southern California Motorcycles (“SCM”, “we”, “us”), 515 West Lambert Rd, Brea, CA 92821, (714) 256-6700. By using the site, you agree to them. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the site.
The site helps you choose a bike and start a conversation with us. Buying a motorcycle happens in person, under a written sale contract, and that contract governs your purchase. Nothing in these terms takes away any right you have under California or federal law.
Prices
What the price on a bike includes
Every bike for sale on the site shows a Total Price. It includes:
- our price for the bike;
- freight (getting the bike to us);
- setup (preparing it for delivery); and
- the $85 document processing charge.
Plus government fees and taxes, any finance charges, any electronic filing charge, and any emission testing charge.
How the Total Price is built, and our freight and setup amounts by brand, are explained on How our prices work.
Each price is for one bike
An advertised Total Price is for the specific bike shown, identified by its stock number. It is good while that bike is available, and until any end date shown with the price. We will sell that bike at its advertised Total Price while it remains unsold, as California law requires. When a listing says “No freight or setup fees,” freight and setup are $0 on that bike until the date shown, and a listing that waives only one of them says which. The $85 document processing charge still applies.
Where several identical new bikes share one listing, the Total Price applies to each of them.
We work to keep every price and detail accurate. Please confirm the price and details of a bike with us before you buy.
MSRP on information pages
Model pages, brand pages and other pages about a model, rather than a specific bike, show the manufacturer’s suggested retail price (MSRP). MSRP is the manufacturer’s figure, not our selling price. It does not include freight, setup, the $85 document processing charge, taxes or registration. Each bike we have in stock shows its own Total Price.
Manufacturer offers
When a manufacturer offers cash or a special program on a bike, we show the amount, its terms and its end date with that bike, below the Total Price. Manufacturer offers are set by the manufacturer, end on the date shown, and may depend on your eligibility (for example, approved credit or military service). Where an offer requires it, we say “dealer participation may affect consumer cost.” Offers that depend on you are worked out with you when you buy.
Estimated price with tax and fees
“See your price including taxes and fees” adds California sales tax for the ZIP code you enter and DMV fees for that bike to the Total Price. It is an estimate only. You can’t change the numbers. The tax and fees you actually pay are set by the state and depend on details we confirm when you buy, such as your address and the registration.
Payment estimates
Payment figures on the site are estimates for information only. They are not an offer of credit, a quote, a promise that you’ll be approved, or a way to build or finalize a deal.
- Estimates start from the bike’s Total Price, add estimated tax and fees, and use the down payment and term you choose.
- They use a standard annual percentage rate (APR) of 9.9%, so you can compare bikes on the same basis. It is not a promotional rate, and it is not the rate you will get.
- Every estimate shows the amount financed, the APR, the number and amount of payments, and the down payment it assumes. The figures are an example, not an offer of credit.
- Your actual rate and terms depend on your credit and are set by the lender who approves your application.
Financing is provided by independent lenders, not by SCM. SCM helps arrange it.
Credit applications
When you apply for financing on the site, your application is encrypted in your browser and opened only by our finance team. By sending it, you agree to the authorization shown on the application, which lets SCM and the lenders we work with obtain your credit report and verify your information to evaluate your application. Sending an application does not guarantee approval. See our privacy policy. Finance customers also receive our financial privacy notice.
You must give true and complete information, and only about yourself or a co-applicant who has agreed to apply with you.
Availability, photos and details
- Bikes on the site can sell at any time. We update the site every night and whenever a listing changes in our system, but a bike may sell before the site catches up. Call us to confirm before you travel.
- Bikes on their way to us are marked as in transit, with the expected date. That date comes from the manufacturer or shipper and can change.
- Pre-owned bikes are shown with their own photos when we have them. New bikes may be shown with manufacturer photos, which can differ from the bike in color shade, accessories or market-specific details.
- Specifications and features come from the manufacturer and may vary by model year and market. Confirm anything that matters to you with us before you buy.
- Mileage on demo and pre-owned bikes is shown as recorded when the listing was made. The odometer at delivery governs.
Test rides
Booking a test ride on the site is a request. It is confirmed only when we call, text or email you back. To ride, you’ll need to be 21 or older, hold a valid motorcycle license (California M1 or your state’s motorcycle endorsement), wear full riding gear (a DOT helmet, gloves, a jacket, long pants and over-the-ankle boots) and sign our waiver before riding. We may decline or end a test ride for safety, weather, the bike’s availability or any other reasonable reason. Event demo rides have their own sign-up and terms.
Service, parts and trade-ins
- Service bookings are requests until we confirm a time with you. We give you a written estimate and get your OK before we start work, as California’s Automotive Repair Act requires. Southern California Motorcycles is registered with California’s Bureau of Automotive Repair as an automotive repair dealer, registration ARD 311778.
- Parts requests are requests for us to find a part and call you back with price and availability.
- Trade-in and “We Buy Bikes” forms start a conversation. A value is given only after we see the bike in person. Anything shown online is not an offer to buy your bike.
Contacting you
When you send a form, you ask us to reply by call, text or email, the way you chose. Message and data rates may apply. Marketing texts go only to people who tick the optional text box, and email news only to people who tick the box to receive it. Every email has an unsubscribe link. To stop texts, reply STOP. See our privacy policy.
What you send us
When you send a form, a review, a photo or a message:
- the information must be true, and about you or someone who has agreed to let you share it;
- it must not be unlawful, abusive, misleading or someone else’s property you don’t have rights to; and
- you let SCM use it to answer you and run our business. If you send ideas or feedback, we may use them without owing you anything.
Reviews shown on the site are chosen by SCM from real customers, shown with their dates, and never edited.
Using the site
You may use the site for your own, non-commercial purposes, and share links to it. Please don’t:
- attack, overload, probe or try to get around the site’s security, or try to reach the admin system;
- send automated or fake form submissions;
- copy the site’s photos, text or design to sell or advertise vehicles elsewhere, or present SCM listings as your own; or
- use the site in a way that breaks the law or someone else’s rights.
Search engines and AI answer and research services are welcome to read and index the site, as long as they respect our robots.txt file and don’t overload it.
Our content, and other people’s trademarks
The site’s text, photos, video, graphics and design belong to SCM or to the people who licensed them to us. Triumph, Ducati, Royal Enfield and Suzuki names, logos and model names are trademarks of their owners and are used under our dealer agreements. Using them on the site doesn’t mean any manufacturer runs or endorses this site.
If you believe something on the site infringes your copyright, contact us with the details at info@socalmotorcycles.com and we’ll look into it promptly.
Our other sites, and other people’s
Our online stores, shop.socalmotorcycles.com (gear, apparel and accessories) and offroad.socalmotorcycles.com (off-road bikes, parts and riding gear), are run by SCM on Shopify. Each has its own terms, shipping, return and privacy policies, which apply when you shop there.
The site also links to manufacturers, lenders, YouTube, Google Maps and other sites we don’t control. We aren’t responsible for their content, prices or practices. Their terms and privacy policies apply when you use them.
Disclaimers
We work hard to keep the site accurate, but it is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the extent the law allows, we don’t promise that it will always be available, error-free or free of harmful code.
The site doesn’t change any warranty on a motorcycle or part. A new bike’s warranty comes from its manufacturer. Any warranty, or any “as is” sale, on a pre-owned bike is stated in writing when you buy, and your sale contract and California law decide your rights.
Limit on our liability
To the extent the law allows, SCM is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses from using the site, or for losses caused by sites we link to. This doesn’t limit our liability for our gross negligence, fraud or willful misconduct, for personal injury, or for anything else the law doesn’t let us limit. Nothing in this section affects your rights about a vehicle you buy from us, which your sale contract and the law govern.
Disputes
If something goes wrong, please contact us first. Most problems are solved with a phone call. Call (714) 256-6700, email info@socalmotorcycles.com, or write to us at the address above, and the owner of the business will reply.
These terms are governed by California law. Any dispute about the site that we can’t resolve together will be decided in the state or federal courts for Orange County, California, unless the law gives you the right to bring it elsewhere. You can always use small claims court if your claim qualifies.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. When we do, we change the date at the top. Changes don’t apply to anything that happened before the update.
The rest
If part of these terms can’t be enforced, the rest still applies. Not enforcing a term right away doesn’t mean we’ve given it up. For a purchase, your signed sale contract wins over anything on the site.
