2026 Suzuki SV650
Since 1999 the SV650 has built its reputation on one thing: a lively mid-size V-twin in a light, simple roadster, and riders have loved it ever since, for good reason.

Our take on the SV650
It's the kind of bike that turns a ride across town into a small adventure.
The 2026 SV650 ABS keeps the formula riders love. Dual four-piston calipers grip fully floating 290mm stainless-steel discs with ABS, a 41mm fork with 4.9 inches of travel and a preload-adjustable rear shock soak up the road, and Low RPM Assist and Easy Start make pulling away effortless.
Point it at a set of bends and it feels stable and planted, yet playful enough to keep you grinning in your helmet. The close-ratio six-speed gearbox suits a commute or a spirited Saturday equally well.
What the reviewers say
“Handling is brisk as well; the SV is easy to toss through corners and exhibited no skittish or unpredictable behavior, even when I made mid-corner adjustments.”
RiderJenny Smith, May 2016Read the review on Rider (opens in a new tab) “Its light weight and narrow chassis make it easy to maneuver through traffic, and the low seat height removes any anxiety from the stop-and-go nature of the busy and changing conditions.”
Ultimate MotorcyclingKelly Callan, May 2016Read the review on Ultimate Motorcycling (opens in a new tab) “The willing little V-twin gets into its stride at 6000rpm and charges on to around 9000rpm before the rev limiter kicks in somewhere north of 10,000rpm.”

Questions riders ask
What's the seat height?
Suzuki lists 30.9 inches, and the slim 3.8-gallon tank flows into the seat so it's easier to put your feet down at a stop. Ready-to-ride weight is 437 pounds.
SV650 ABS or GSX-8S?
The SV650 ABS is the fun-loving classic, with a 645cc 90-degree V-twin, a trellis-style frame and a simple LCD dash. The GSX-8S steps up to the 776cc parallel twin with a 270-degree crank, a quickshifter, traction control, riding modes and a five-inch color TFT.
Does it have ABS and rider aids?
ABS is standard and matches brake pressure to available traction. Low RPM Assist smooths pulling away and helps reduce the chance of stalling, and the Easy Start System fires the engine with a single press of the button.
