Our take on the Hunter 350

Its compact frame, short wheelbase and tight geometry give it a nimble, eager feel, and the fuel-injected long-stroke J-engine delivers easy torque right where you need it in traffic. It turns in sharply and has a way of making a short errand feel like a proper ride. Darting through town on it's an absolute blast.

With a 31.1-inch seat, wide contours and good standover, it's easy to handle in stop-and-go traffic. At 399 lb with fuel it's light enough to park and turn around almost anywhere, so it's always tempting to grab the keys and go, and the twin rear shocks have six-step preload adjustment to suit a passenger or a heavier load.

Questions riders ask

Hunter 350 or Classic 350?

Both are 350 singles. The Hunter is the compact street bike on 17-inch cast alloy wheels with tubeless tires. The Classic is the traditional retro bike, with a teardrop tank, a casquette headlamp and styling drawn from the 1950s G2.

What's the seat height?

31.1 inches, with wide contours and standover that Royal Enfield designed for easy handling, even in stop-and-go traffic. The curb weight is 399 lb with 90 percent fuel and oil.

What wheels and tires does it use?

Cast alloy wheels with tubeless tires, 17 inches front and rear, with a 110/70 up front and a 140/70 at the rear. The tubeless setup means one less thing to worry about on a long day out.
