Our take on the Streetfighter

Yet it's a genuinely enjoyable road bike, with a balance of sport performance and naked comfort that suits real streets as well as track days.

The V4 runs the 1,103cc Desmosedici Stradale with 205 hp, and its acceleration is savage.

Day to day the Streetfighter feels light and alive, and the V4's howl through the gears is addictive. On the V4 the handlebar now sits 10mm closer to the rider, and the tank and seat are redesigned along with the footpegs for a close connection to the bike. Every version comes with a steering damper for calm, stable manners at speed, which you'll appreciate when the road opens up and the V4 starts to fly.

What the reviewers say

  • “Torque is bountiful and plentiful, and relatively wide gear ratios allow you to hold third and fourth gears in the twisties while still having decent performance on tap.”

Cycle NewsRennie Scaysbrook, May 2025Read the review on Cycle News (opens in a new tab)
  • “Whereas the previous generation 955cc engine was a bit sharp and serious, the new V2 feels like it's built for the road, thanks to a crisp throttle and a friendly, but feisty shove of torque.”

What’s new on the current Streetfighter

This generation arrived for 2025.

The Streetfighter V2, photographed by Ducati
  • Lightest Streetfighter yet

Built on the Panigale V2's monocoque chassis, it is about 40 lb lighter than the model it replaces. The base V2 weighs 392 lb without fuel, and it feels it in quick direction changes.

  • New 890cc V2 engine

The 120 hp V2 with variable intake valve timing replaces the desmodromic 955. Peak power is lower, but 70% of the torque arrives by 3,000 rpm and holds up toward the 11,000 rpm limiter, which suits real roads better.

  • Double-sided swingarm, set longer

A hollow double-sided swingarm replaces the single-sided arm and runs 1.2 inches longer than the Panigale V2's for stability without a fairing. A Sachs steering damper is standard.

Everything new
  • Wider handlebar

The high, wide bar is about 1.2 inches wider than before, giving you more control in tight corners and a more upright stance than the Panigale.

  • Electronics from the Panigale V4

A six-axis IMU runs cornering ABS, traction, wheelie and engine brake control, with the Quick Shift 2.0 up/down quickshifter and four riding modes.

  • New 5-inch TFT

A new dash with Road, Road Pro and Track views, run by a petal joystick on the left switch block.

Questions riders ask

Streetfighter V2 or V4?

The V2 uses the 890cc twin with 120 hp and weighs 392 lb wet without fuel, or 386 lb for the V2 S, and it's wonderfully agile. The V4 uses the 1,103cc Desmosedici Stradale with 205 hp and weighs 421 lb, or 417 lb for the V4 S, and it's breathtakingly fast.

What's the seat height?

Ducati lists 33 inches for the Streetfighter V2 and V2 S, and 33.3 inches for the Streetfighter V4 and V4 S. The V2 comes with a passenger seat and footpegs, while the V2 S, V4 and V4 S are single-seat bikes with an accessory passenger seat kit.

What does the S version add?

On the V2 S, Öhlins suspension, a lithium battery, Ducati Power Launch and a single-seat setup. On the V4 S, Öhlins Smart EC 3.0 electronic suspension, an Öhlins steering damper, forged aluminum wheels and a lithium battery.

Choose the V4 S if you want every upgrade. It adds electronic Öhlins suspension, an Öhlins steering damper, forged wheels and a lithium battery.

Choose the V4 if you'd rather spend the difference on track days and tires. It's the same 205 hp V4 and Race eCBS brakes, with fully adjustable Showa and Sachs suspension, for $6,400 less.

More on these two

Which one fits your riding

The V4: The base V4 has the same engine and electronics as the S, and its suspension is fully adjustable. It suits riders who like to set up their own bike.

The V4 S: The V4 S is for the rider who wants the bike to do the setup work. The electronic Öhlins adapts as you ride, on the street and at the track, and the forged wheels take weight off where you feel it most.

What the V4 S adds

Everything in the V4, plus:

  • Öhlins Smart EC 3.0 electronic suspension in place of Showa and Sachs
  • An Öhlins steering damper
  • Forged wheels in place of cast
  • A lithium battery
