How the Tiger models differ

The Tiger Sport 660 and Tiger Sport 800 are the road-going Tigers, and on a twisting road they are an absolute riot. Both ride on 17-inch aluminum wheels and Showa upside-down forks, with cruise control and Triumph Shift Assist for crisp, clutchless shifts. The 660 makes 95 hp, with a seat of 32.9 in at 465 lb wet, and its triple loves to rev. The 800 steps up to a 798cc triple with 113 hp, adds adjustable fork damping, and weighs 472 lb wet with a seat of 32.9 in. Open it up and that triple howl does the talking. The Sport 800 Tour adds panniers, a top box and heated grips, so a weekend away can easily become a week.

The Tiger 900 and Tiger 1200 are the adventure bikes, and their T-plane triples are something special: twin-like grunt down low, then a thrilling rush to the top of the rev range. Each comes as a road-focused GT and an off-road Rally. The Tiger 900 makes 106.5 hp and 66.4 lb-ft. Its 2026 GT Pro Alpine edition has Marzocchi suspension and a seat of 32.3 to 33.1 in at 494 lb wet; the Rally Pro Desert switches to Showa suspension, with a seat of 33.9 to 34.6 in at 509 lb wet, and it looks stunning with a little dust on it.

The Tiger 1200 is the big cat: 1160cc and 150 hp, with incredible acceleration every time you roll on the throttle. It adds Showa semi-active suspension, heated seats and grips, and Blind Spot and Lane Change Assist, so a long day in the saddle feels short. The GT Pro Alpine is 545 lb wet with a seat of 33.5 in, and the Rally Pro Desert is 553 lb wet with a seat of 34.4 in. Both big Tigers carry 5.3 gal of fuel; the Sport models carry 4.9 gal.

Questions riders ask

Tiger 900 or Tiger Sport 800?

It comes down to the road you want. The Tiger Sport 800 is the road-focused sport tourer, with a 798cc triple making 113 hp, 17-inch aluminum wheels and a seat of 32.9 in, and it is a thrill through a set of canyon curves. The Tiger 900 is the adventure bike: an 888cc T-plane triple with 106.5 hp and 66.4 lb-ft, a 5.3 gal tank and an Off-Road riding mode for the moment the pavement runs out.

Tiger 1200 GT or Rally?

Same glorious 1160cc engine with 150 hp and 95 lb-ft, and the same triple howl when you open it up. The 2026 GT Pro Alpine is the road-focused touring version, with five riding modes and a seat of 33.5 in, and it devours long highway miles. The Rally Pro Desert is built for challenging terrain, adds an Off-Road Pro mode for six in total, and its seat sits at 34.4 in. Both are gorgeous machines, so pick the one that matches where you want to ride.
