This is the top of the Tiger range. The Tiger 1200 Rally Explorer is built for transcontinental riding, and its 1160cc T-plane triple blends the low-speed tractability of a twin with the top-end rush of a triple. With 147 hp and 95 lb-ft it covers ground with ease, on pavement or off it.
It comes loaded. A 7.92-gallon tank gives it serious range, and Showa semi-active suspension with 220mm of travel adds Active Preload Reduction, which can lower the ride height by up to 0.78 inches when you stop. Brembo Stylema monobloc brakes, rear radar for Blind Spot Assist and Lane Change Assist, heated grips and seats, tire pressure monitoring, hill hold control and Triumph Shift Assist are all standard.
The bar and peg positions are set for long hours, and the seat adjusts between 34.4 and 35.2 inches. It weighs 575.4 lb wet, and the significantly lighter, more agile chassis carries it with real poise in slow traffic and on gravel.

Rally Explorer or GT Explorer? Same 1160cc triple with 147 hp and 95 lb-ft, and the same long-range tank. The Rally Explorer is the all-road version, with 220mm of suspension travel and a seat between 34.4 and 35.2 inches; the GT Explorer is road-focused, with a seat between 33.5 and 34.5 inches.
What does Active Preload Reduction do? When you come to a stop it can lower the ride height by up to 0.78 inches, depending on how much weight the bike is carrying, which makes putting a foot down easier.
