Our take on the Trident 660 and 800

Thrilling performance with everyday rideability is what the Trident 660 does best, and now it brings a sharper, more athletic attitude to match. Its 660cc triple gives it an instant, responsive feel, and the triple soundtrack turns every run across town into a small escape.

For 2026 the triple makes 94 HP (up from 81) and 50.2 lb-ft (up from 47), with new bodywork, a more muscular stance and refined chassis geometry. Updated Showa suspension pairs 41mm upside-down forks with a Showa monoshock, and you get Triumph Shift Assist, cruise control, lean-sensitive Optimized Cornering ABS, three riding modes and My Triumph Bluetooth connectivity.

At 430 lb with fuel and a 31.9-inch seat, it feels planted and sporty through a bend and easy to place in traffic. Quick urban escapes and long, sweeping back roads are where it shines.

New for 2026

A 2026 Trident 660 in Cosmic Yellow on a coastal road, photographed by Triumph
  • More power

94 hp at 11,250 rpm, 13 hp more than before, and 50.2 ft-lb of torque at 8,250 rpm. The redline rises 20% to 12,650 rpm, and 80% of peak torque is on tap between 3,000 rpm and almost 12,000.

  • Three throttle bodies

One 1.7-inch throttle body per cylinder replaces the old single unit, fed by a larger front-mounted airbox. A reworked head with bigger exhaust valves and a higher-lift cam sharpens response and deepens the induction sound.

  • Revised gearbox and clutch

New gearbox shafts, revised ratios and final drive, and recalibrated Triumph Shift Assist for smoother clutchless shifts. A new slip and assist clutch lightens lever effort.

Everything new
  • Adjustable Showa shock

A new Showa rear shock with preload and rebound adjustment and 5.1 inches of travel, on a revised frame, so you can tune the ride for your weight and pace.

  • New tank, seat and headlight

A wider tank with chiseled knee cutouts, a split rider and passenger seat that takes an accessory solo cowl, and a new LED headlight with a daytime running light.

  • Wider handlebars

New, wider bars give a roomier, more comfortable reach and lighter steering effort.

  • New exhaust

A 3-into-1 header with a revised catalyst and a compact underslung silencer.
