Our take on the Speed 400
Find your freedom. The Speed 400 is the real deal, a genuine Triumph roadster built around a characterful 398cc TR-series single. It rides on premium hardware for its size: 43mm upside-down Big Piston forks up front and a 300mm disc with a four-piston radial caliper and ABS.
At just 375 lb with fuel it flicks into corners and slips easily through traffic, and a quick errand has a way of turning into the long way home. The liquid-cooled DOHC engine is eager and responsive, and the stainless twin-skin exhaust gives it an unmistakably Triumph sound.
For 2026 the Speed 400 comes in three color schemes: Pearl Metallic White with Phantom Black, Lava Red Gloss with Storm Grey, and Phantom Black with Storm Grey.
What the reviewers say
“The Speed turns quickly and sharply at low speed in the city but will also play footsies under the table when you get moving in the twisties.”
