I was so fortunate to ride the Tiger 660 during our trip in England and on the Isle of Man. It was set up with three hard bags, and I spent 7 days riding it. That was enough time for me to gain a real appreciation for this bike. My normal bike is my Tiger 900 GT Pro and this 660 really surprised me. First off it feels light and nimble even with the hard bags full. There were many tight turns and slow traffic to deal with and it handled everything easily. Pick up the speed and the handling was precise and stable! I spent hours riding and was pleased that it was very comfortable. The suspension works great.
I’m only 5’7” tall and it is a little taller than my GT Pro but not enough to bother me. The luggage was brilliant! The bags don’t stick out far and the top bag holds 2 full-face helmets. The locks work great, and the side bags come on and off easily. The engine has impressive torque and power for a 660. Leave it to Triumph to excel in this area. I never had a want or need for more power. Overall, I give the Tiger 660 two thumbs up!
I did jump on my Tiger 900 GT Pro when I got home and went for a ride to see the differences. I won’t be selling my 900 for a 660 but I will say the 660 is a real value for all it offers and the way it performs. And it’s a really good-looking bike! Come demo one and I truly believe you will be impressed also.
2022 Ducati Streetfighter V4 SP First Ride
Faster without more power.
Let’s put this into context: Ducati’s Streetfighter V4 S didn’t need an upgrade. It is comfortably positioned as the king of the hyper-naked market. With a Desmosedici Stradale 90-degree V-4 pushing out an incredible claimed 208 hp, it kicks sand in the face of the competition and, on track, laps faster than any other naked machine in history… But, hell, it got upgraded anyway.
While the SP’s 208 hp V-4 remains unchanged from the one in the two existing Streetfighter variants, a seriously spec’d-up chassis features lightweight carbon wheels that are 3.1 pounds lighter (also deployed on the Superleggera), an STM EVO-SBK dry clutch, more track-focused Öhlins Smart EC 2.0 suspension, Brembo Stylema R braking, adjustable aluminum footpegs, and the stunning “winter test” livery.
