I Turned 72 Last Week!

Sent around July 2024. From our newsletter archive. Offers and prices in this issue have ended.

The history and career in motorcycling that I have had is simply unimaginable and I have been blessed! I have been riding since I was 16 years old, had the privilege of working for companies such as American Honda, Race Tech, Triumph Motorcycles, and have owned my own dealership I built from scratch for 25 years now.

I have been to Moto GPs and races around the world, ridden motorcycles in exotic countries like Italy, England, Japan, France, the Isle of Man, and raced and set world racing records myself. I feel so fortunate to have been able to be at the pinnacle of the industry I love for many years.

Having so many motorcycle experiences and stories to choose from when I try to entertain you every week got me to thinking that I would love to see and hear about some of yours! So how about you send me some of your pictures and stories to marketing@socalmotorcycles.com or tag us on Instagram @socalmotobrea and we will share them with our family of customers and fans.

Being involved in motorcycling for 56 years has been the greatest joy of my life, and I intend to try to keep myself healthy and fit to be able to ride until my last day on this earth. I enjoy nothing more than being with motorcycle people hearing their stories and talking about motorcycles! What a life!

I have put almost 12,000 people on motorcycles through Southern California Motorcycles, and it has been such a joy to see the look on so many people’s faces as they get their new motorcycle and ride off! There are still so many more people to see do this!

Keep creating your own stories and enjoying this motorcycle life we all love.

2024 Royal Enfield Himalayan First Ride Review

Change hasn’t been the highest of priorities for Royal Enfield over its 124 years of making motorcycles. But then again, since 1956, when the company started manufacturing bikes in the Chennai plant in India, there really hasn’t been a big need for much revolution; RE’s models have served its primary Indian market well, and proved novel in Europe and the US. However, in the past few decades there has been significant growth, starting with 2008′s Unit Construction Engine (UCE) produced until 2020, then followed by the current 350cc J-platform, 411cc L-platform, and 650cc P-platform engines. Even with the massive progress in virtually every regard, these air-cooled singles and parallel twins still have more in common with their past than the future.

But the brand-new for 2024 Himalayan is the most radically different motorcycle that the company has ever made, offering a totally modern engine and electronics package mated to a chassis that is more capable than anything before it. In fact, there isn’t a single part on the new Himalayan that is common with the model that first went on sale in 2016.

Bulega produces two great races to twice finish second at Most. A Sunday to forget for Bautista. Superb double win for Huertas in Supersport.

Nicolò Bulega got the best possible result on Sunday at the Czech Round, finishing twice in second place behind Razgatlioglu (BMW), who at Most confirmed the big advantage over the competitors already proved at Misano.

The Italian rider, who took a few laps in the lead both in Superpole Race and in Race-2, crossed the chequered flag ‘only’ 3.2 seconds behind Razgatlioglu.

A very difficult Sunday for Alvaro Bautista who crashed on the last lap of the Superpole Race in an attempt to overtake his team-mate, then was hit by Petrucci (Ducati) at the first corner of Race-2 and forced to retire.

TOP-SEVEN RESULTS FOR MONSTER ENERGY TRIUMPH RACING AT MXGP ROUND 13

Monster Energy Triumph Racing’s Mikkel Haarup has secured fifth overall at the MXGP of Czech Republic, with teammate Camden McLellan close behind in seventh. Consistent results for both riders – a 4-5 for Haarup and a 7-8 for McLellan – underlined the speed and ability of the duo, along with the performance of their TF 250-X machines.

Following a hugely successful trip to Indonesia for two back-to-back rounds, Monster Energy Triumph Racing headed to the Loket circuit in the Czech Republic for MXGP round 13. Known for its high speeds and rough terrain, the race track is one of the toughest on the calendar, and with Haarup and McLellan running up front during the weekend, it was another rewarding GP for the team.
