Our take on the Continental GT 650
Stringing bends together on this bike is a genuine thrill. It's a back-road bike at heart that still has plenty of fun in town.
An LED headlamp, aluminum switch cubes and a USB port bring it up to date without costing it an ounce of cafe racer charm.
The seat sits at 32.3 inches and the bike weighs 472 lb wet, so it feels light and eager, almost playful, when you change direction. Royal Enfield estimates 63 mpg, which makes it as easy to ride to work on a Tuesday as it is to ride to the coffee stop on a Sunday morning.
What the reviewers say
“…bestow the Twins with effortless maneuverability, yet when tucked in and going for the ton, they're reassuringly stable.”
RiderGreg Drevenstedt, October 2018Read the review on Rider (opens in a new tab) “The throttle connection and fuelling is sweet and even though only 47bhp is on offer, the engine's refinement is of such quality that you'd be fooled into thinking it has at least 20 more bhp.”
Bennetts BikeSocialMichael Mann, October 2018Read the review on Bennetts BikeSocial (opens in a new tab) “Next to the looks, the engine might just be the Conti GT's strongest suit.”

New for 2026
LED headlamp
The classic round headlamp now uses LED lighting, so you see farther at night and other drivers see you sooner.
Adjustable levers
Brake and clutch levers now adjust for reach, so riders with smaller or larger hands can set them where they feel natural.
New switch cubes and grips
New aluminum switch cubes with a better feel, plus improved handlebar grips, make the controls nicer to use every time you ride.
Everything new
Cast wheels on the blacked-out bikes
The new all-black versions get a blacked-out engine and exhaust and cast alloy wheels with tubeless tires, which are easier to deal with if you pick up a puncture.
Better seat and tires
An improved seat design with foam-mesh material adds comfort on longer rides, and the bike rolls on improved CEAT tires.

Questions riders ask
Continental GT 650 or INT 650?
Same 648cc twin and 47 hp. The GT is the cafe racer, with a tucked-in riding position and a 32.3-inch seat. The INT 650 is the roadster, with a wide handlebar, a laid-back riding position and a 31.7-inch seat.
What's the seat height?
32.3 inches, with 6.9 inches of ground clearance and a 55-inch wheelbase. The tucked-in position and sculpted tank put you right into the cafe racer stance every time you ride, and it feels fantastic.
What fuel economy does it get?
Royal Enfield estimates 63 miles per gallon, which will vary with riding style, road conditions and fuel. That economy is a big part of why the GT 650 works so well as an everyday bike.
