Retirement?

Sent around August 2024. From our newsletter archive. Offers and prices in this issue have ended.

In 2020 when covid hit and virtually shut down the country we were fortunate to be able to stay open but had to limit personnel and monitor all of our contacts with customers and staff. I wound up staying home most of the time and using Zoom and the phone to communicate with my staff.

So when things slowly started to get back to normal, I had gotten used to kind of a “semi-retired” lifestyle. I was 70 years old, so I decided to stay semi-retired and enjoy my newfound freedom from work. As time went on, I found that I really got bored and missed being at So Cal Motorcycles. After all I built my dealership from scratch and spent so many years of my life here.

Fast forward to today and I have decided to come back and work at my beloved dealership. I absolutely love to talk motorcycling with my customers, and I love being surrounded by the eye candy of so many beautiful motorcycles and accessories! Not to mention being around the best staff there is!

So I will be sitting in Triumph on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays till about 2pm and spending all day in Ducati Fridays and Saturdays. I’m not competing with my sales staff. I just like talking to people about motorcycles. It is so deja vu to sit in the Ducati showroom in the exact same place I sat 25 years ago when I was the first and only salesman! And even back then I would bring my pug Pugsly to work with me, just as I do now with Beetlejuice and TT.

Drop in and say Hi.

The Ducati Lenovo Team Ready to Return at MotorLand Aragón for Round 12 of the 2024 Season

The MotoGP World Championship returns to MotorLand Aragón for the twelfth round of the 2024 season. Reintroduced to the calendar this year, the track will host the 15th edition of the Aragon GP.

Ducati triumphed in the last two rounds held at MotorLand, bringing the Borgo Panigale manufacturer's number of successes on the Spanish track to three. In 2021, Francesco Bagnaia scored his first exciting victory in MotoGP, while in 2022, Enea Bastianini secured his fourth success in the premier class after an intense duel with his current teammate.

Mikkel Haarup Charges to Fifth at Challenging MXGP Round 17

Monster Energy Triumph Racing’s Mikkel Haarup has placed fifth overall at the MXGP of Switzerland following two consistent race results. A hard charge through the field in demanding conditions to fifth in race one was improved upon in the second moto when the Dane crossed the line in fourth. For Camden McLellan, it was tough day at the races but he placed 10th overall despite overcoming a little adversity in both motos.

The hardpack track of Frauenfeld hosted the 17th round of the MX2 World Championship, and conditions changed considerably from Saturday to Sunday. The qualifying race took place under sunny skies where Haarup and McLellan placed sixth and 10th respectively before overnight rain transformed the conditions for Sunday where heavy, sticky mud presented a new challenge at the Swiss GP.
