Our 25th Anniversary Open House!

Sent around April 2025. From our newsletter archive. Offers and prices in this issue have ended.

It was an out of body experience for me at our Open House last Saturday! I walked around thinking about how could it already be 25 years since our grand opening event on April 4th, 2000. Now 25 years later I’m vaulted back in time.

The 25th anniversary Open House was one of our best with tons of people having fun with the demo rides, free food, live music, free raffle, and all of the great vendors that were displaying their products. And the weather was perfect! It was such a joy to see so many people ride in and enjoy themselves at the event.

Customers that had bought bikes from me in our first year came to the event as well as so many others that are part of our So Cal M/C family. They brought back so many good memories of the wonderful customers that have made us what we are today.

A lot of people came up to me and showed concern about my recent gallbladder surgery asking how I am and wishing me well. I truly am the luckiest guy in the world to be surrounded by such caring and great people. I am doing well now and am on the rehab road to recovery. I will be riding soon and hope to see many of you on the road.

No one knows what the future will bring but I am certain that mine is going to be riding motorcycles, hanging with motorcycle people, touring to great destinations, and enjoying this incredible world of motorcycling. Get out and ride that motorcycle of yours because you know what it does for your mental health and attitude as well as how much fun it is.

2025 Triumph Speed Triple 1200 RS

First Ride

Evolution leads to Triumph’s most advanced motorcycle ever.

For those who can recall 1994 and the first-ever Triumph Speed Triple, well done; it was a while ago. Much has changed since then, both in motorcycling and at the Hinckley HQ itself, but the Brit manufacturer’s flagship streetfighter or super-naked, as we might call it now has endured and evolved, culminating in the 2025 Triumph Speed Triple 1200 RS. Always muscular and carefully put together, and in recent times operating in that sporty zone between pure roadsters like the Kawasaki Z900 and brain-out naked superbikes like the Ducati Streetfighter V4S, it has become increasingly refined, blending torque-rich performance with handling agility.

Now the Speed Triple story continues with this heavily revised 180.5-hp RS Triumph’s most powerful and electronically advanced bike to date, complete with Öhlins Smart EC3 suspension and state-of-the-art rider aids, including four-level front wheel lift control and engine-brake strategy.

2025 Ducati Streetfighter V2 S First Ride

Less is more, more or less.

Ducati chucked its 955cc Superquadro desmo engine in the bin for all of its V2 models. The Panigale V2, the Multistrada V2, and now the Streetfighter V2 replacing it with a new 890cc 90-degree V-2 with spring valve actuation that makes less peak horsepower. Thirty-three less horsepower. What kind of un-Ducati-like strategy is this: less cubes and less power? Well, on the 2025 Streetfighter V2 S, there’s also less weight 40 pounds, Ducati claims. All of this less-ness is wrapped up in a new chassis that is derived from the 2025 Panigale V2. Is less more?

To find out, we went to Almeria, Spain, for a day on the road. Southern Spain ranks high on our winding-road and good-weather matrix, and this ride would be on par with temps ranging from 50 to 75 degrees Fahrenheit and clear skies. Ducati supplied the Streetfighter V2 S model with upgraded Öhlins suspension, lithium-ion battery, Ducati Power Launch, and single-seat configuration.
