TIDBITS / NEWS / EVENTS
With the coming of the vaccines I’m hoping that this horrible virus can be defeated sooner than later. With that said, I am so anxious to get back to going to motorcycle events. Even though it might not be until midyear before things really start to normalize, we are already beginning to plan to attend and host motorcycle activities.
Have you ever been to a big motorcycle event? They are absolutely a blast. The ambiance created by all of those motorcycles and motorcycle people are something to behold. Whether it is a major motorcycle race, a bike concourse, the Long Beach motorcycle show, a motorcycle run, or any motorcycle event that brings hundreds to thousands of motorcyclists together will send chills down your spine as you get there. I am so blessed as to have attended hundreds of these types of events like theFrench, Spanish, Italian, Australian and U.S. rounds of Moto GP, TT races on the Isle of Man, countless motorcycle shows and every kind of motorcycle event you can think of. And I can’t wait to start attending them again. There is something about being surrounded by motorcycle people that I still lust for.
So stay informed and jump at the chance to get on your bike and attend the next event. You will understand why I love them so!
The 2021 Ducati SuperSport 950 Looks Like a Panigale
It’s been four years since Ducati revamped the SuperSport. For 2021, it gets an overdue rework complete with updated styling, a contemporary electronics package, and a new name. Now dubbed the SuperSport 950, the road-biased sport bike from Borgo Panigale will appear in US dealerships in March, starting at $13,495 for the base model.
Ducati Senior Designer Julian Clement, who penned the 2017 SuperSport as well as the Panigale V4 and Scrambler Icon, chipped away at his original design to give the SuperSport 950 an aggressive look more in line with the Panigale family. While the tank and tail section appear unchanged, the front fairing and side fairings are new. The fairings feature prominent side extractors and the front end has a look reminiscent of the 1099/1199/899 Panigale.
