Our take on the Hypermotard V2

The V2 carries the 890cc Ducati V2 with 120.4 hp.

Point it at a canyon road and the Hypermotard is pure joy, steering quickly and staying light on its feet, and it's just as entertaining on a city street. The upright stance and slim middle give you real control, and Cornering ABS, Ducati Wheelie Control and Ducati Traction Control let you enjoy all that agility with confidence.

What’s new on the current Hypermotard V2

This generation arrived for 2026.

The Hypermotard V2, photographed by Ducati
  • More power from the V2

The 890cc V2 makes 120 hp, up from 112 hp on the 950, with 69 ft-lb and 70% of that torque by 3,000 rpm. Shorter gear ratios make it more responsive out of corners.

  • About 29 lb lighter

The base V2 sheds 28.6 lb compared with the Hypermotard 950, which makes it quicker to flick from one turn to the next.

  • Monocoque frame and double-sided swingarm

An aluminum monocoque frame and a double-sided swingarm, longer than on the other V2 models, replace the steel trellis frame and single-sided arm. A trellis subframe and underseat pipes keep the Hypermotard look.

Everything new
  • Valve checks every 28,000 miles

Spring valves replace desmodromics, stretching valve clearance checks to 28,000 miles.

  • Taller seat on the standard bike

Seat height is 34.6 inches, about 0.4 inches taller than the old standard 950. An accessory low seat and lowering kit bring it to 33.5 inches.

  • New electronics and dash

A six-axis IMU runs cornering ABS, traction, wheelie and engine brake control, with Quick Shift 2.0 and a larger 5-inch TFT. Power Launch and a pit limiter are available as accessories.
