The Quest for that perfect motorcycle…

A true motorcyclist will never find that perfect motorcycle! I see it every day with my customers who will change bikes sometimes more than once a year. I’ve had many customers that have bought more than a dozen different motorcycles from us and they are still looking.

This urge to keep looking stems from things like the bike’s too tall or short, the wind protection isn’t just right, or the seat comfort or suspension isn’t soft or firm enough. Sometimes a prettier or more powerful bike is introduced and you just gotta have it. I am no different and neither is Cyndy. We are in the process of changing our bikes to better suit us. I love my Tiger 900 GT Pro, but I see my beautiful custom Bonneville T120 just sitting in the garage, so I am going to put a different windshield on it and ride.

Don’t look for much logic in all of this. Motorcycling is such an emotional thing that it really is hard to make sense of some decisions we make. It’s seems like if you put any accessory on your bike it becomes a brand-new bike!

The season is here, so I hope to see you out on the road.

2022 Suzuki GSX-S1000GT+

First Ride Review: Minimalism In Motion

It’s better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it. That phrase haunted my thoughts as the clouds opened up and rain lashed the 2022 Suzuki GSX-S1000GT+’s windscreen. “Why didn’t you pack waterproof gear?” I chided myself. “Why didn’t you check the weather report?” As luck would have it, the shower soon became a downpour. Water streamed into my leather jacket first. In minutes, my riding jeans were saturated.

After finding shelter and a warm fireplace, I realized that the "have it and not need it” expression doesn’t just apply to riders; it also sums up the sport-touring category. With travelers covering vast distances in the saddle, manufacturers need to account for all climates and conditions when fashioning a grand tourer. However, there’s a big difference between packing the essentials and packing the kitchen sink. From semi-active suspension to cornering LED lights, many of today’s sport-tourers opt for all the bells and whistles.
