Riding with your mate as a passenger is a lot of fun and special too. I have to admit that when Cyndy started riding her own motorcycle I missed having her on the back of mine. Yes, she is a very competent rider, has multiple bikes and loves to ride. The fact that I fell over in the dirt once with her as the passenger may also have something to do with her seldom riding with me. Still, I miss it.
When we ride together now she rides her bike and I am proud of the rider she has become. She has taken her lumps, like many of us, by crashing and hurting her bike and herself, but she gets back on because of her passion for riding. I love riding beside her and watching her ride. Once in a while she will acquiesce and jump on the back with me. I enjoy it but, I know she is doing it just for me and would rather be on her bike.
A mate like that comes around once in a lifetime! Whether you ride two up or beside each other, cherish those rides!
PS, If your mate rides with you on your bike or on their own, make sure you are both geared up with the best riding gear. I see too often the rider with all the protective gear and the poor passenger in shorts and flip flops! Not good!
