Back in the sixties and seventies the kind of motorcycle you rode seemed to be a much more emotional choice than it is nowadays. It was not uncommon to see riders almost come to blows arguing that their brand was better, cooler, faster, and that your brand sucked (i.e. Harley v Japanese bikes). Most riders would proudly wear the patch of their brand on their jackets or vests with some going so far as to get a tattoo of their bike or brand.
It comes down to the passion that motorcyclists have for riding, comradery and their bikes. Because of this I designed Southern California Motorcycles to have each brand completely separated and exclusive so that the brand enthusiast would feel that we respect and represent their brand better than anyone else. Having separate dealerships for Southern California Triumph, Southern California Ducati, Southern California Royal Enfield, and Southern California Suzuki has actually been a major factor in our success. After 23 years it lead us to where we are today, the Number one Triumph and Number One Royal Enfield dealer in the U.S.
Riders have not lost their passions but I will admit I see fewer brand patches as time goes on. I have changed my personal allegiance to a particular brand a few times. I loved my Hondas, especially working for them for so many years. Then came my passion for Ducati. For many years now my lust is for Triumph, and I proudly wear their logo on my jackets and shirts.
It is special to be proud of your choice of bike and it is a great conversation starter when you get around other riders.
It’s just one of the things that makes motorcycling so awesome.
2024 Ducati Multistrada V2 S First Look
New model year brings fresh black and gray livery for dynamic middleweight.
Ducati’s V4 bikes got headline news for the 2023 model year with reveals of the Panigale V4 R, Diavel V4, and Multistrada V4 Rally (all new), among others, but 2024 seems to be more of a refinement period for Bologna’s often-overlooked V2 models. Earlier this month, we got news that the 2024 Panigale V2 would be receiving a new “bolder” black on black livery, and now comes word of a similar treatment for the just announced 2024 Multistrada V2 S. That means we’ll be seeing a new Thrilling Black and Street Grey color for the dynamic middleweight, to join the base model’s existing Ducati Red color scheme. The new livery (which tacks $400 on to the base price) “enhances the sporty spirit of the Multistrada” according to Ducati, with contrasting red wheel rims and new, sleeker model name graphics on the front side panels adding to the visual punch.
