TIDBITS / NEWS / EVENTS
Friends! My friends have always been more family than friends. The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band’s song “Partners, Brothers and Friends” kinda says it all. Back when I was just starting riding, Doug, my bro of 52 years, was there riding with me. Then Tommy came along riding his Goldwing with me 44 years ago. My Bro Bill had his Yamaha Vision, and started riding with me 33 years ago! These guys are still by my side, and riding with them brings back such great memories and creates more.
Tommy, Bill and I rode yesterday, and wound up at Cook’s having some lunch and a beverage. We have gone on so many trips together that we spent the time talking about them, and trying to figure out our next one. Maybe the Moto America Road Races at Laguna Seca in July, AFT races in Sacramento in September, or maybe both? My rambling is just saying that it is absolutely priceless to ride with your friends, and the lifetime relationships that get built are incredible.
I can’t even start to tell you of all of the incredible friends I have gotten from all of the years in riding with the Road Toads, American Honda, SCPBRA, Triumph Motorcycles and of course So Cal Motorcycles. God, I love motorcycle people! I am the luckiest man alive by the wonderful people that surround me!
The soon to arrive all-new Trident 660
"2020 New Bike of the Year"
The all-new 2021 Triumph Trident 660 is the big winner of this year's Best New Bike poll. It received 18-percent of the votes out of 30 contenders (some we suggested, others were appointed by the readers).
Considering the bike also showed up in most of the RideApart team's "5 Bikes We're Looking Forward To" selection, this victory doesn't come as a surprise. As Triumph's first mainstream, mid-size offering in a long time, armed with an iconic inline triple, and priced competitively, there's a lot to be excited about. At least we thought so, and you guys agreed.
