TIDBITS / NEWS / EVENTS
Cyndy and I want to add to our stable a smaller, lighter fun motorcycle that we can share. Back in 2014 she had a Suzuki DRZ400SM Supermoto and she loved it. We lowered it, which suited me just fine since I am vertically impaired as well. It had so much ground clearance and we had no intention of taking it off road, so it worked just fine for our wants and needs. She sold it a few years ago, but we are both missing how much fun it was to ride.
These kind of bikes are like SUVs. They kinda look like off road vehicles and can handle some off road use, but 95% of them will never see dirt. They work exceptionally well in all aspects of street use! The DRZ is a blast in the twisties, really fun around town, and can easily cruise down the freeway if you want to.
We can go two up, which we usually don’t do because she likes to ride her own bike, but when we do it is a lot of fun. We even put her DRZ on the back of our RV when we had one.
If you ever are thinking of going this direction try out the Suzuki DRZ400SM. It really is a blast and is a value to boot.
Suzuki Unveils 100th Anniversary GSX-R1000R
Limited to just 100 units in the UK, the anniversary GSX-R1000R gets a retro paintjob just like the current GSX-RR MotoGP machine, which is a blue and silver homage to Suzuki’s early race bikes from the 1960s.
Since it’s an R model not only does it get the 199bhp 999cc inline four from the standard production model, it also gets the nifty mechanical VVT system as well as fancy electronics including 10 traction control modes (does it really need that many…), a quickshifter, autoblipper, launch control and cornerning ABS.
The anniversary model will go on sale in October. Might not be a bad investment in a few years time.
