Our take on the TXP youth electric

The TXP-12 and TXP-16 are Triumph's purpose-built electric off-road motorcycles for kids, part of a premium range designed to support every stage of a young rider's development. Quiet electric power, real suspension and disc brakes make them the real deal for little riders. Start gentle, then turn it up as their confidence grows.

Triumph designs the TXP-12 for children aged 3 to 5. It is a wonderful way for a little one to discover the thrill of riding.

Both run a sealed 43V, 10Ah lithium-ion battery that comes out without tools, and an LED battery indicator sits on the bike. Parents stay in control with a PIN code they set, a magnetic safety lanyard and a two-stage start-up sequence, while Active Performance Stabilization is built in on both. Kids get the adventure, and parents keep the controls.

Questions riders ask

TXP-12 or TXP-16?

Triumph designs the TXP-12 for children aged 3 to 5, with a 600W motor, a 50 lb weight and seat heights of 14.17 or 17.51 inches. The TXP-16 adds extra power with a 765W motor, a slightly larger chassis and wheels and upgraded suspension, at 58.6 lb with seat heights of 17.71 or 21.65 inches. Both are built for big smiles, so the right one is simply the bike that fits your child today.

How does the battery work?

Both bikes use a sealed 43V, 10Ah lithium-ion battery that removes without tools, with an LED battery indicator on the bike so you can see the charge level at a glance. That means less guessing and more riding. Ask our team to walk you through charging when you pick one up.

TXP-16, Triumph studio image
TXP-16MSRP $2,295

Choose the TXP-16 if your rider is 5 or older and ready for more. It has 16-inch wheels, a stronger motor, hydraulic disc brakes and more suspension travel.

Choose the TXP-12 if you're starting a young rider from age 3. It's smaller and lighter, and you set the power and speed while they learn, for $600 less.

More on these two

Which one fits your riding

The TXP-12: The TXP-12 is a first motorcycle. It's light, the seat is low, and a PIN-protected keypad lets parents set power, speed and throttle response, so a 3-year-old can start slow and build up.

The TXP-16: The TXP-16 is the next step for kids who've outgrown the 12. Bigger wheels, real hydraulic brakes and more suspension make it a proper little trail and trials bike.
